Jason's father was a king in Ancient Greece. When Jason was a baby, his uncle, Pelias, took the throne and made himself king.
When Jason grew older, he went to King Pelias and demanded the throne back. The king said, "If you want to be king, you must bring me the Golden Fleece."
The Golden Fleece was a magical golden coat from a flying ram. The fleece was kept far away in a land called Colchis. A dragon that never slept guarded it.
Jason asked brave heroes from all over Greece to help him. Together, they built a ship called the Argo and began their dangerous journey.
Jason and his team, called the Argonauts, had many challenges. They met giant monsters, angry gods, and stormy seas.
When they reached Colchis, they met Medea, a princess with magical powers. Medea liked Jason and wanted to help. She gave him a potion to make the dragon sleep. Jason used the potion and the dragon fell asleep. Jason grabbed the Golden Fleece and ran back to the ship.
Jason, Medea, and the Argonauts faced many dangers along the way home. When Jason finally arrived with the Golden Fleece, King Pelias still would not give up the throne. Even though Jason didn’t become king, he was welcomed as a hero. The Golden Fleece became a symbol of his courage and strength.
